Probably like you, I'm a working parent with kids who are growing up way to fast!  My inspiration for starting DoodleTurtle was the box full of my childrens' creations - all calling out to me to be let out of their box and shine! 

Ok, maybe that didn't come out quite right!  But seriously, when I would add something new to that box, I'd regret that these mementos of their changing personalities and abilities seemed so temporary.

I wanted to be reminded of those stages and changes!  I wanted to share them!  Then when my daughter got a bit older, I wanted to encourage her creativity by showing her that her Dad and I (and her grandparents, etc) really valued her creations.

Being able to involve my kids in creating really meaningful gifts for the special people in their lives was also a huge plus for me.

I couldn't find anywhere that would do the kind of customization I wanted.  I wanted something beyond a square photo in the middle of a mousepad.  Not that there is anything wrong with a great mousepad... but I wanted more options.  I tried was some local brick and mortar places (here in Ottawa, Ontario) but still couldn't find what I was looking for - the right medium, and just enough design touches to really showcase their art.

So I started making things for myself and as gifts, and then I wanted to buy some better equipment...(you see where this is going don't you?)

So now, in 2015, I am excited to be launching DoodleTurtle to see if I'm not the only parent with a box of art that wants to escape!
